Kiera grooving on some hand me downs. Kiera got herself dressed and ready to go to ballet all by herself. Little (or not so little!) Ms. Independent. She is so amazing. She is starting to play with letters. In a quiet voice so that Sully doesn’t hear, “Mom, can I have a D.R.F. (or any random few letters). You know Mom, a cookie?” Or in an attempt at sounding out words “Mom, can I have a cccc oooooooo kkkk eeeeee?” Pretty cute.

Outfit post ballet

And here is our little dino. He knows how stinkin’ cute he is wearing that suit. Love it! His comprehension is exploding. It is hilarious to ask him to “take a deep breath”. It really is just him breathing in and out of his nose a few times but super cute.

Rest in sweet peace Nana Helen— you will be in our hearts forever.

Getting creative about passing the time

Beautiful Fall morning— got back from the cities late last night. Instead of unpacking Kiera wrote Great Grandma Ellen a note and off we went to the post office. The kids went in fashion- eating blackberries and raspberries while Sully played with his truck. I think Kiera was trying to make a silly face in this picture.

Take two— lovin’ the berries.

Kiera proud to send the letter off. She included a penny as G Ellen includes some Bingo money won at the nursing home in letters to Kiera.

On the short walk home we gathered leaves to do some art. Sully making his fall art and frustrated that his right hand had paint on it:)

Sully’s final product

The kids took a break to “go to Africa” on Marv’s mower.

I came home late today to greet and send Sarah off to class with a hi-bye and an iluvu. Sully let the entire neighborhood know that he wasn’t happy with Sarah’s departure so we made a quick retreat into the house.
Kiera was eager to show off the Faerie box project she has begun. So far there are a few decorations and a couple of fleece pillows for them to rest on. Sully’s wailing followed us around the house until he spied the pickles in the fridge and immediately began to point and do his signature grunting.

We made our way into the sunporch to have a dance party. Kiera showed off her killer moves and Sully took notes. I was the honorary guest and an honor it was to see them moving so freely and happy to perform for their papa.

Kiera came over to me and gave me a big hug. I recognized the sweet familar smell in her hair and told her “You smell like camp fire.” She responded with a quip “Yup” and stepped away as quick as she appeared in my lap. She stopped and said “Wait…” and came rushing back. Kiera stuck her face into mine to take a whiff and announced “Yup, you smell like office.”

Fair enough.
