Busy day in prego land

Begining at 9 am with a visit to our beloved midwife. We had the chance to talk about our emotional and physical selves before getting to the medical end of things. Sarah and baby checked out with flying colors.

We took a short beak on the morning of prego activities before an exciting afternoon visit to the sterile walls of the medical institution. We had a scheduled visit to view our developing child via the magic box. Laying flat on her back, and lathered in lube, the technician navigated Sarah’s growing belly with her wand. The pictures on the monitor were a sensory overload. A good hour later we were supplied with a plethora of pictures to record our visit.

Today’s activities provided us the luxury to carry on with our lives in comfort knowing that we will be welcoming another beautiful child into our home.

It made it equally difficult to not find out the sex of the babe when provided the opportunity through technologies crutch. We reluctantly avoided the obvious to anticipate it’s arrival and announcement to the world.

Oh and in case you were wondering, we are 22 weeks and 1 day along. Baby is 1 pound and measuring approximately 11 inches. And the due date is still March 10th.

I can feel it

For the first time in the past 20+ weeks, I was able to feel the baby kick. What an awesome thing. Sarah has been notifying me of all the movements in her belly but now I can feel the too. Laying on the couch tonight we were startled by the baby as it was fluttering about and giving some good kicks. This is were it gets fun for me. I will soon be able to push and get a push back.

FYI to all… (secret inside, keep reading)

The first time was a bit different. I suppose “it” is never the same. But this time “it” was really different. There were tears, laughter, and smiles. Kiera climbed up on the chair where I sat and looked me in the eyes and asked “moma, ok?” in her sweetest most caring voice. “Oh, my yes”, was my response. I was, I mean am ok. Very ok. Martin is ok too, Kiera as well. Spring rolls with our closet friends will never ever be the same again.

And this is why…

Need we say more?

Well, we have said more. Lots more. Throughout the course of the night Kiera repeated the words Mama, Baby, Tummy to our family over the phone. (With the addition of “no see it yet”) The pause over the phone seemed to last forever. A nervous silence filled the room. They wanted to believe they understood what she said but didn’t want to be wrong. They weren’t wrong. Mama does have a baby in her tummy. Another baby spirit has chosen to come into our lives.

We are blessed. Oh so blessed.
