Fort Snelling

The Gang minus Katie

new life

It is a long story.

Digging out the side of the house, transferring the dirt scraped from our “driveway”, putting it into the dug whole,
then placing the dug dirt back in to even out the side… make sense? Little bit by little bit we are getting this house into shape!

Sully happy as can be digging with Kiera happy as can be eating her rice bread and playing with pet worm “Jim”

me after digging for a few hours

Quinoa Delight (yeah, I know, dumb name!). Can’t wait to eat this while driving down to New Richmond, WI!

Never got a picture of them all looking– (at me anyway) Kiera, Liona, and Sully checking out
the black bears at the Chippewa Falls, WI zoo. We visited our friends 4/23.

It was great to have some good mama lovin’!

After Chippewa Falls can an Eau Claire gas station with Ney Ney and Mike- keeping it classy!

Mike and Sully playing with the dirty wash water— (Sully was the main one who
played in it!)

Sully is a crab crawling, big boy walking, mama/papa jabbering, music dancing, strawberry eating, mama milk signing, almond milk drinking, pot banging, big sister admiring, infinitely curious, dirt digging, stick dragging, goofy laughing, zerbert blowing, marker drawing ONE YEAR OLD!!!
I’ve been collecting these classic quotes for quite some time now… time to unleash them!
1. (Fall 2008)
“Hes got good genes.” (Referring to Sully)
“Yeah I have jeans just like you papa!”
2. (Fall 2008)

3. (Winter 2009)

7. (Spring 2009)
To her grandma… “Errrr, I am just so frustrated at my mom because she doesn’t understand me.”
8. (Summer 2009)
“Kiera, what are you eating?”

15.
Tonight amidst the tears and screaming during bedtime I told Kiera that I was throwing her popsicles away. I was desperate… and yes, I know it wasn’t the best parenting moment I have ever had. She looked at me with her red and puffy tear stained face and asked if she was ever going to be able to have popsicles again. Another classy parenting moment I said no. She looked at me, eyes lit up slightly, tear subsided and she confidently said “Yeah but when I get bigger I am going to buy popsicles with my own money.” (9/14.09)
16.
“Mom can i have sugar on my toast (lifting up a gallon jug of it) Om, no but you can have cinnamon. I don’t want cinnamon. I want sugar and I want a new mom. When I grow up big I will buy a new mom and buy sugar.” (10/16/09)
17.
While getting ready for a chilly fall camping trip, i was scheming up ideas to keep sully warm. i placed him in a laundry basket to see if i could drape a blanket over him. Kiera took this as a sign that were getting rid of Sully (since moving into the house we have taken many loads to goodwill in laundry baskets) (all teary eyes) “Mom, I don’t want to get rid of Sully, I want to keep him my brother forever.” (10/16/09)
18.
“Kiera, I love your beautiful nakey body!”
“Mom, when I grow big I want to have a beautiful house like Mama Stacy and do nakey slip and slide, ok?” (while putting on her swim suit under her warm clothes “just in case we can go to the beach”) (10/16/09)
19.
“Kiera guess what Kassi is doing right now?”
“She’s modeling.” “Like a penguin? I can do that!” (waddling)

23.
“heat venter”
24.
“vsagna”
25.
“Hey Andrew, you are a rockstar”. “What is a rockstar?” “A rockstar is someone who rocks out and plays the drums, or guitar, or harmonica.” (2.22.10)

“Papa I love you as big as a train that goes around the world.” (laying in bed snuggling, 3.22.10 7am)
27.

What memories, photos, blogs will matter in the future? Here is my attempt at quickly, efficiently, and memorably share where us, the Sawinski Family, are at in our lives.

Kiera’s “classy closet”

She picked out the green shirt and red dress on clearance today at Old Navy.

Play hard, sleep hard

Sully is a musicman. Banging, dancing, spinning…

Here we are, Mama and Papa Bear- holding down the fort. Loving, growing, accepting, acknowledging. My 27th birthday quietly came and went while we were in Florida. Less t-shirts, more “pretty mama” is my motto this year.
Florida rocked. Great weather, fantastic family time, amazing memories. The kids did an awesome job while we were driving. Kiera was all about the swimming pool, Sully the sand, Martin the scuba diving, and me the yummy seafood! All our pictures are at flickr.com/thesawinskis but here is a snippet of our fun!

Happy happy 32rd!

Thanks Jim and Beggs Family for your Florida hospitality. Really, really, THANK YOU!!!!
Kiera: No, my butt is just too big!!
3 going on 30?
