A fun filled day

We started out this morning heading to a doctor’s appointment for me, followed by the Aquarium. We basically had the place to ourselves!

Feliz Dia Del Carino

Everyday is a day for love- but today especially! We had a great gathering of homeschoolers. The day was filled with love, yummies, laughter, circle time, Valentines, and living:)

Since there is no snow I might as well blog

It is the middle of February and there is hardly any snow. WHAT?!?! It is darn right eerie and I don’t like it one bit!

20120213-221707.jpg

Kiera is practicing her letters and numbers. We are taking it slow and following her lead.

20120213-221736.jpg

She is also quite keen on having Martin brush her hair nightly.

Prepping cards for Grandma Lori’s 56th birthday.

Sully is on a french fry kick. Martin made these ones the night prior. I think we will be planting a lot of potatoes this spring!

Bummer. Super soft enamel + a two year old = dental reconstruction (capped teeth) + general anesthesia = grateful for health insurance.

My new kick— homemade granola (or granilla as Sully calls it).

It is Valentine’s Day tomorrow. Homeschool gathering out of Janette Pollay Girl Scout Camp followed by Kiera’s yoga class and heart shaped pizza, jello, and rice krispy bars! It will be a day filled with extra special loving!

What do we do all day?

We homeschool, or unschool, or free learn, or whatever you want to call it. Think we sit home all day? Not exactly. Here is a summation of the last few days.

Sully “doing” gym class. Tossing balls and bean bags into the bucket.

20120116-202525.jpg

Kiera spending a few minutes on a workbook she got for Christmas. Not my favorite activity for her to do, but that morning she was having a great time perusing pages and picking a few to do.

20120116-202537.jpg

Helping make (and consume) Mama’s kombucha.

20120116-202549.jpg

Homeschool rollerskating!

20120116-202559.jpg

Sully “playing” the arcade games.

20120116-202609.jpg

The Depot- On the Wedge Snowplow.

20120116-202619.jpg

The Children’s Museum

20120116-202627.jpg

Taking down the Christmas tree

20120116-202636.jpg

Date time with Mama. He chose to stay home in his jammies and eat “ipe beam”, watch his “bobot” movie, and play trains.

20120116-202654.jpg

It was a super sweet day!

20120116-202701.jpg

20120116-202710.jpg

Kiera had a date with Papa. Zinema for Kung Fu Panda and brunch at Zeitgeist

The zoo— digging watching the lemurs.

20120116-202717.jpg

Dress up time with friends.

20120116-202727.jpg

Other things we missed taking pictures off- Unity storytelling, grocery shopping, Kiera’s yoga class, Unitarian religious education, lunch with Grandpa, books about Martin Luther King, Jr., and home art time… Sure, we “just stay home”. This graphic (from Facebook page Free Your Kids) made me giggle. People always say, “We can’t homeschool because my kids need more socialization”. I usually just smirk:)
